Weapon value/effectiveness question for Borderlands vets...

u add everything-reaver is a unique gun on the standard borderlands there might be more to it why the price is high the bigger barrel -the weapons unique body parts it might have a wider body not sure i think both guns are made by dahl .the main reason they are both snipers and they dont have elemental snipers either by s&s or maliwan.i aint using borderlands wiki .im guessing here.i could give it a shot invite me in game and ill figure what barrel  if the barrel is longerand stock its using if its wider it adds to the pricetheres a guy here in the forums if u wanna know  a lot more i meant without grabbing the gun just by looking at it  can figure his in and out of this game.he thought me what i know .:)

i forgot the lb title on theautomatic sniper rifles is not the best one-its the ppz variant .it wont apply to unique drops or pearlescent quality items.

ignore weapon price, the biggest factor in the price of a weapon is the scope, two weapons with everything the same but the scope the one with it will have the higher value.

the parts on a weapon to look for is Body, Barrel (shape), Mag (the Clip), Material (weapons colors) ... the Body and Material will improve the weapon a lot, the Barrel helps with damage and accuracy and the Mag is how much ammo and how fast it reloads or shoots.

the two weapons you used are unique weapons they have a set material and other set parts, with little other variations, only the Level # will raise the stats.

ohh yeahh forgot the material and mag size.i have muchhh to learn.scope ohh yeahhh get the ones with above 2.4 zoom.if u got the secret armory dlc get the dahl penetrator its either green,blue or purple or ifg u cant get that a thunder made by torgue for high damage and decent firerate. :)

Great. Thanks for the advice. So forget the price, go by the numbers and appearance? It seems like even if I'm using a unique weapon with weaker stats it still performs better in combat than another non-unique weapon with better stats.

Price & color should not be a reason to pick one gun over the other. This game has very specific weapons (unique) and some that are not. Pick by performance and use.

some weapons have special abilities and hidden abilities that other weapons don't, Unique weapons are special one of a kind weapons, you sometimes only get once in the game.

I like fire and acid weapons the most.  After that, I look at (in no certain order) magazine size, fire rate, damage, accuracy and that's it.

then you must be a fan of S&S and Maliwan alot, I prefer fire rate, over damage, I really don't care about Jakobs weapons, give me a Torgue, even a rare Gearbox i would rather have than a Jakobs.

im more of a torgue vladof atlas dahl stopping power purposes. for each gun manufacturer is amazing.smg,machineguns/machinepistols,machineguns/revolver,smg/auto snipers. jakobs only like them for two things unforgiven and bessie :) make three skullmasher-the striker is wayyy slow cannot use it against bigger threat enemies
