Left feeling a little dissapointed and ripped off

I've had something similar. I've got my old Xbox 360 registered in the Netherlands (Played on PS3 for the past 2 years btw), and after about 4 years it died. Than I got a new Slim, 250GB and a transfer cable for my old Xbox.

About 5 months ago I went to buy the First Strike map pack, so I bought some points and redeemed it. When I went to buy the map pack, it came with the message 'Not available in your country', as my Live account was registered in the Netherlands and I moved to Belgium. I went back to NL and downloaded it, which was absolutely strange for me.

After calling Microsoft once again, I've had to create a new Belgium account, to download the Escalation map pack on. That worked for me, and also worked on my other account.

[/quote]DLC is tied both to the account used to buy it and the console it was first downloaded on.

To make the DLC 'belong' to your new console, which will enable your son to use it again, you will have to run the License Migration Tool.

In the Future, I have heard that you can download the DLC to his console first, then download it again to your console, but it will require you to recover your gamertag to his- download, recover to yours and download again. It only works once, so if you get a third xbox it won't work anymore.

Like Biscuitz0r said,  just do a license transfer and all the accounts on your new console will be able to play previously downloaded DLC.

Green eyed leo. Doing that is theft of market place content and could lead to a console ban for both consoles.

quick stupid question I know but how do i do a license transfer?

click on the link and follow the steps. just a bit of advice when the list of downloads comes up tick EVERYTHING. I did the migration and didn't select two games. once I realised I tried to run it again but it has a stand down period before you can do it again, I think it was like 3 months or something stupid so I had to wait all that time before I could get the two games back

Thanks for the help guys kind of sorted it. Found out about the 3 month stand down period only problem is you can only transfer 30 items over at one time and i had a lot more than that so just had to choose my top 30 i use the most for now.  Cant do the others till sept.  And i forgot to choose the 1st map pack for black ops.  I did the 2 nd ones but not the 1st ones. What a dingbat!!! cheers for the help guys
