Is there anyway to stop hosting games on xbox live?

    I dont think so, other than possibly making your nat strict or moderate. But if that does work, it would also keep you from playing with certain friends and make it harder finding a match in general.

Just start downloading P@RN and upload tons of videos to Youtube while you are playing. That should slow your internet down a bit.

Downgrade to dialup. That should work.

Does it mean anything good or bad when you get selected as host a lot? I do about 70% of the time or better. Im not complaining though. And by the by, does watching youtube vids WHILE playiing significantly affect lag?

from what ive noticed if you have a computer going with its internet on it can really affect your connection within the game because its both sharing your modem, when i keep my internet on i have 3 bars when i have it off on my computer its usually 4 but never host but yes it does lag when your watching videos, or on msn/aim etc.

If your ip limits your bandwidth, then its possible to get dropped if you go over that.

I had a 40gig limit (just upped to 100) , and have never gone over, but there are plans out there that limit it to considerably less.

As far as gameplay, thats a question to cause arguments. Some claim the host has advantage, otheres say the host is intentionally gimped.

I just know that I get a lot of bs deaths when I host.

I love these posts. You can not even tell who host is 99% of the time

Thanks, I dont ever do that, but last night trying for some zombie achievos, i was youtubing while playing and noticed slight lag. And to old guy, I can say that there are two types of host. More often than not, host means your bullets will connect instantaneously. But I have noticed times where host will mean that you do have a slight disadvantage where people seem to take extra to kill, even though your bullets do as they would if you had "good" host. Difficult to explain, but it seemed to happen more in MW2 than in BO.
