Call of Duty 4 - De-Ranked

Hi,

Recently, while I was playing Call of Duty 4, I noticed that my Rank (previously Level 55, 10th Prestige) had been reset, and no longer lets me go on game modes, as it has been reset to Level 1, the lowest possible level.

I've scouted around the web and haven't been able to get a straight answer. Can anybody shed some light on this issue, or say if they;ve come across it, or how to get rid of it?

This seems to have happened when I connected to a game, it abrubtly closed, and I was told by another player in a juvenile manner, that I'd been 'de-ranked', which leads me to believe this was the intention of someone.

If you could help me identify the problem, or any possible solution, I would be very grateful, as I can't play any games in Call of Duty 4 because of this.
