$1.00 unauthorized charge from Xbox?

I bought a deal on my xbox for 3 months of live gold + 800MSP for a total of $13.98 ($12.50+tax) on May 07 with my Visa.

The following day, May 08, I called up support to remove the monthly auto-renewal feature from my account.

I checked my credit card statement and it's telling me there was a $1.00 charged on May 08 from Xbox. I checked my Xbox.com billing history and it shows nothing about this $1.00 charge.

Was I charged $1 for cancelling auto-renewal or is this a mistake?

These $1 charges are just to verify your payment method is still active and accepting charges. It will be reversed in a couple business days. If it doesn't, contact your bank and/or phone support.

some companys charge a $1 fee to make sure you have money in the account if you have subscription
