Xbox One select correct receiver input?

I don't think it does this, but if someone has made it work, I would like to know.  For some reason, when my xbox one turns on my AV receiver, it changes it to the "TV" input instead of the "Sat/Cbl" input which is where the xbox one is plugged in.  My harmony remote has no problem turning on the receiver and making sure it is on the correct input setting.  I would like to see Xbox do the same thing.  At the moment, I have just set it so that my receiver doesn't turn off when the xbox turns off.  The xbox one recognizes my receiver as an option in its setup (Denon AVR-1911), so it wouldn't seem like too much of a stretch to have it set the receiver to the proper input when it turns it on.  I appreciate any suggestions anyone may have.

I've noticed a similar behavior on my Yamaha receiver with my Xbox One as well.  After getting everything configured the way I needed it, this is no longer a problem for me as that's the input that brings in the optical audio anyway.

I would think that because the Xbox One is designed to pass through your TV signal that they defaulted the control codes to set your receiver to the TV input.   You may be able to get around this by going into the manual set up options for your device codes, but I haven't looked into this as I said above that after I got everything set up and working the TV input was where I was receiving the audio anyway.

Good luck!

So many bits, so little time...

Same problem except it turns my RCA receiver to tuner and plays the FM radio. Annoying...I'm ready to ditch the xbox turning on my receiver and just stick with my harmony remote. Cool feature...if it worked.

Very simple solution. Find out what input Xbox automatically sets it too. Then switch your HDMI inputs on your receiver. For example on my Onkyo I switched the Xbox HDMI to VCR DVR. Now it starts up at the right input every time.

So your saying that the XBox does change the AV Receiver Input to a default Input? I was under the impression that the AV receiver powered-on to whatever the last Input that was selected when the receiver was powered off.

Well I'm not sure if this is useful or not but here it goes:

I own a RCA Kevlar sound system (old but really great sound)

I hooked it up to my TV and tried to get it to work through the xbox.

The first code muted the system and the volume worked, When I turned the Xbox off, so did my sound system.

However, when I turned everything back on it would switch to AM radio. So annoying.

I attempted the audio device setup on xbox again, skipped the first code this time as well as the second one (didn't work)

The third once again muted and controlled the volume. This time the xbox couldn't turn the receiver off though.

After ripping my hair out, I realized that I never turned on the toggle setting for the audio device. Once I did that it worked like a charm. Stays on AUX with the second code that worked. The first one that worked was turning my sound system on and off without the toggle being on.

My advice would be to select "no"  the first time it asks if the mute function worked, even if it does. Try to see if another code will work and make sure you have the toggle on.

aalphaandoomega - What do you mean about the "toggle".  I have an RCA receiver too and Xbox One always changes the input to AM/FM radio.

Having same issue with my Pioneer 21THX.  I cannot do the hook it to the signal that comes up as it will move from BD-TV/Sat which does not. even have HDMI. So everything will turn on except my receiver.  So no picture or sound until I grab a 2nd remote. Almost a cool feature....sigh.

Instant on is set to turn on TV and open TV app. Occasionally, it will turn to my xbox360 input and will still show cable. A much improvement after I had changed the TV input name from 360-wii. The 360 is VGA don't know why the xbo would start up that input. I'm hesitant to change it from the TV's natural 'game' for the video settings.
