Uninstalled Games Stuck on Home Screen

So yesterday I uninstalled the games Child of Light and #IDARB from my xbox one console. However, on the home screen, both games have tiles which show up greyed out and unable to be removed. They aren't removed by opening other programs to replace them as "recent apps", and power cycling the console did nothing. I refuse to do a factory reset, and reinstall all my content to remove app tiles that should have been removed when I uninstalled the games. Does anyone know how to remove these phantom tiles from the home screen?

Hey mate,

Factory reset is only a last resort, so we'll try a few things before we cross that bridge.

To me it just sounds like you still have it pinned to your home screen. Go to the far left screen, or to the tiles in question, hit the menu button, and select 'unpin'.

Also, I will just check to make sure you are power cycling (hard reset) the console correctly. When the machine is on, hold down the power button until the console turns off, wait a minute or two, then turn it back on. The xbox should then boot up showing the green xbox loading screen, this is the thing that shows you the power cycle has happened correctly.

Lastly, do you have other games installed on the console? They will sometimes stay grey on the home screen when they have no other games to replace the recent history. They should disapear if you open 4-5 games or apps though

Failing that, you could alway reinstall them, play other games/apps to make them disapear from the home screen, then unistall them again :)

You should definitely not need to factory reset :)

Let me know how you go!

Cheers
