I recently had troubles downloading the update that allowed paypal as a method of payment. I ended up having to burn the update to a CD and extract it onto my xbox. This worked and everything was fine until I went to my other house (which has it's own xbox & hard drive there) and recovered my gamertag. I played there for about 3 days but then returned to my other house.
When I tried to recover my gamertag back, I got the "downloading updates. please wait" message, so I waited. Eventually, it stopped and said "there was a problem downloading the update please try again later". This has happened about five times now. I've tried to troubleshoot by deleting my profile off of both hard drive, and restarting my router.
I guess the solution I'm looking for is a way to get the recover gamertag update onto a disk and extract that onto my xbox, but any other input would be helpful.
