Transfering Game Credits from a USB Memory stick to Xbox Memory

I purchased the new Xbox the other day and I transfered all my game credits, data, etc. on to a memory stick to transfer it over to the new Xbox. The only problem is that the system is telling me that they have to configure the USB memory stick (which will wipe out any exsisting data ) in order to use it.

Does anyone know how I can transfer over this information to my Xbox without it erasing everything off of the USB? Or how can I access all my saved data on to my computer?

The only reason that the xbox would be saying that it needs to reformat the stick is because it wasn't formatted in the first place or you had your data on your computer.  Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it now.  Any DLC can be redownloaded to the xbox and any MS Points associated with the gamertag are saved online for you (as are achievements).  Recover your gamertag to the new console but the rest of it is gone.

Darn, I gave my old xbox to my brother, and transferred all my memory to the usb stick.  I formatted it on the older xbox to transfer all the memory on it and when i got home i put it in the new xbox (slim) it wouldn't let me access it without configuring it again.  Is it because its a different xbox or newer generation is that why i cant access everything?

its not possible at all to somehow save the memory on my laptop then configure the flash drive then put it on my flash? sorry so many questions just salty i cant get all my game saves haha

Something has happened between your brothers house and your house that has screwed up your flash drive.  I recently purchased a new slim xbox and transferred all my data from my old white one the same as you with no problems.
