Problem with controller

Today i wanted to play forza 3, i put the disk in my xbox, and suddenly my controller was connected to slot 2 on the xbox but on my controller the light of slot one was on. So now i can't load my save games because according my xbox i'm connected at slot 1

Please help me,

Just try re syncing the control pad to player 1.

Press the sync button on the front of the console, when it starts spinning turn on your pad and press the sync button on there.
Fingers crossed that should assign it back to port 1.

Have you tried restarting your console? Or perhaps tried another controller?
