Having a Serious connectivity problem.

Where to start,  I have Hawaiian Telcom Broadband hi-speed internet service.  They use a modem/router combination. It's a Motorola Netopia, model # 2247-62.  I have opened up the right Ports, it says i have Limited access (the little yellow icon).  If I turn UPNP on, I lose all connectivity and the red X shows up saying i'm connected to the internet but can't connect to xbox live.  I've tried to open things up and do different things in various ways and the ISP will not help me out with the problem because its a security issue and I'm on my own.  So with that being said, I have no F'n clue how to resolve this.  There is nowhere on the router homepage that allows me to mess with the internal firewall, no link, no hints, nothing.   I just can't get aruond the "if the port is open it may be blocked outside your home network'?  What would be blocking outside my network?  Norton 360?  I've tried looking in there to see if xbox is being blocked,  I can't find anything.  Any help.....please!

And an FYI, if i take UPNP off, and have no Ports opened on my NAT, I can get online, play some people, but not my friends who I'm in a Party with.  Opening the Ports seems to do absolutely nothing. And putting UPNP on, will boot me off xbox live all together.....

Just curious , have you tried using the DMZ option within the router to manually put your Xbox IP Address outside of the Militarized Zone within the router ? .

Click on the link below , then read to see if anything on that post describes / answers the problem you've been having .

I had this same exact problem your having a few months back , I simply placed my Xbox IP in the DMZ and viola' , open NAT and perfect connection (:

I put the IP passthrough for the xbox,  open the port for xbox 360 server, upnp is on,  except i had to manually change the settings on my xbox to get connection,  and unfortunately i still get the "access is stil limited" yellow alert symbol.

Depending on your router , you may/may not have a DMZ option under your advanced networking tools .

Check for a router firmware update for your router . It also could be an issue with your ISP if your DMZ is set-up correctly and it still doesn't work

Same exact issue. I consider myself a very high level power user and have set up at least a hundred networks with port forwarding and DMZ's. Same model router/modem combo, same service. I do know that UPNP must be off for anything to work. I can't say enough how god awful these netopia router combos are. You can't even make more than one computer on your network have the same port forwarded to it. So multiple gaming machines is completely impossible and getting above a moderate NAT is damn near impossible.

Has anyone figured anything out at all with this issue?? Please let me know! Help save the thousands of people in Hawaii from this problem if you know an answer.
