Error 0x80a40002

Hi,

I'm currently experiencing some issues with my Xbox One, it seems like i can't login with any account, i always get this error : 0x80a40002.
I tested my internet connection, and it's perfect. I don't understand why! :(
I tried searching for some solutions on google, but no one had an answer or any kind of tips that could've help me...

You may try plugging a network cable from your Xbox directly into your modem and have it do the initial setup then try putting any router/wireless network connections back in place. I have seen other users perform this method to get it to work it is assumed that it is due to strict NAT policies by your network hardware or ISP. In some cases users even tethered their phones for initial setup.

This is what i tried, without succes : -Directly plug it to the modem with network cable

                                                                - wireless

                                                                - used Bridge mode on my pc (Modem=>Pc+>xbox one)

                                                                - Changed Wifi protocol (Wep;Wpa;Wpa2-PSk;...)

And my NAT was always Open...

I am curious, do you know how to change your dns settings on your router? By default you will be using your ISPs. If it allows you to specify can you try OpenDNS servers 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220

hmmm... i tried to find that option on my modem, but i couldn't...

But now i know for sure that the error i got (0x80a4002 and 0x80048883) are related to my modem...

i tried to connect with my windows phone (by bridge) and it succeeded. now i have to find what is the problem with my modem...

The problem is that your modem which gets a an ip address and DNS servers assigned from your ISP (Internet service Provider) may not allow or resolve the DNS or connections for that first attempt. You should be able to connect normally on your modem now according to other reports. Do you have a router that sits between your modem? What modem and router model numbers do you have?

I m using a Netgear (from my ISP) it's doing both modem and router, so i dont have anything between my Xbox one and my modem...

After a long night of fight with my modem, (i was changing the security protocol, openning ALL the Nat port, giving a fix ip for everything that was logged on, and some other things that i dont know if they were usefull (activated the Ipv6,...) .

and this morning, i was able to connect without any problems :3

i tried a second time to log in, and it faild : error 0x80048883 , that was desapointing :(

i tried again ( after doing the Multiplayer network test, which was giving me : everything is perfect) and i logged in, and guess what, it worked... i truly dont understant why :/

Well, after 2 days, i still have some errors, but at least, now i only need to try 2-4 times before sign in...

this is how i do, first try : error (0x8004883), second try : i desactivate the wifi, sign in again and do the multiplayer connection test, after that i try again (error - or not), i try again with the same technique until it succeed.

So in some ways my problem is solved, The errors : 0x80048883 and 0x80a40003 are related to your modem and ISP... that's my conclusion too.

So i hope that, in the future, there will be a patch on Xbox One that will help us to login with any type of modem XD.. until then thx for your help Tehego.

(sorry if i did some gramatical errors, i'm french, so i'm not that good with english :p )

Fixed error code 0x80a40002 on my xbox one.

My problem was fixed by just going into the Xbox  store, clicked on a game demo to download and I was prompted to enter my account info there instead of from the Home screen. After I entered my info to attempt to download a demo game, everything worked fine! No more error code and my gamer account showed up.

Hope that helps for anyone who has the same frustrating issue.
