Easter eggs and secrets

I was reading the latest Halo bulletin and it mentioned secrets and Easter eggs that have yet to be found in Halo 4's campaign.   I also remembered that Bungie mentioned last year that there are still undiscovered Easter eggs in Halo 3, and that's a 5 year old game now.

So I was thinking what are some of the best or hardest Easter eggs or secrets you've found in games?  Whether they be from old games or newer ones, i'd like to hear.

Some of my favourites are in the GTA series. The literal easter egg in Vice City, or the sign on the Gant Bridge in San Andreas for example.

In Halo though, I really liked Halsey's lab in Reach. Huge expansion on a typical easter egg, that.

If you are looking for Easter Eggs and nostalgia trips then go and play Bayonetta as that game is nothing but one big Easter Egg and nostalgia trip.

The game contains numerous references to Capcom and Segas other games and the Halo's that you pick up looks just like Sonic's power rings and one weapon called Rodin looks identical to Shadow The hedgehog's power bracelets.

Easter eggs are great in games, especially for fans of the series, RockSteady used Easter eggs so well in Arkham City and Ubisoft have started to use Easter eggs to bring their games into the same universe, with Abstergo references all over Far Cry 3

If used well then its an extra gift for fans to go and find and explore in the games they enjoy

I remember doing the triple jump event on International Track & Field on the PS1 and a mole popped it's head ot of the sand when my athlete got up.
