Cant Recover Account

Earlier today I changed my Gamertag, this process went through fine, or so it seemed. Less than 2 minutes afterwards I was diconnected from xbox live. When trying to sign in again I was given a message stating that I needed to sign in with a "Valid" xbox live account. I then proceeded to try and recover the account to hopefully remedy the situation. I was then given a error message in the account recovery process saying "Xbox Live signup is currently unavailable. Please try again later." Leaving me without access to my account. In addition, the gamertag change is not even being reflected on my xbox.com account, yet the points I paid for it are gone.What can I do to get my account back?

Don't do anything with your account! Don't delete it, move it or make changes. Look here for more information in regards to the issue. support.microsoft.com/.../912278. I reccomend calling support for your region at your earliest convenience.
