An internal error occurred while installing windows vista service pack 1. Error Code: 0x80073712

While Installing windows vista service pack 1, an error message pop up with error code: 0x80073712 and shows url http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=101139 for details. I have tried all the options mentioned in this url but no luck. Appreciate it if you could help me in resolving this? Much Thanks!

When I type sfc /scannow under command prompt window, it shows the following messages.

"Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete. Restart windows and run sfc again."

I did restart and type again sfc /scannow but it shows the same message as above.

 

Please help me how to resolve this. Many Thanks!
