How can I restore files & apps after a PC refresh (without having to buy anything)?

After my daughter was using my PC, I discovered she had accidently done a complete system refresh (apparently distracted by her little brother). She was just looking around & clicking on random things, trying to learn about the PC but now all my files & apps are gone and nothing was backed up yet. Please HELP! I have the list of removed files & apps but no idea how to recover them. I found a site that tells me it can do it all but I have to buy their product and I'd rather not.

Things you got from the Store tile .. just go into the store.. then right click above the graphics and a top bar opens .. says something about  installed apps ..  look there and you can reinstall your purchased apps or any other apps you had installed.

If documents and pictures are gone.. they are most likely gone forever if you didn't have file history or haven't made any backups.      Same with your desktop installed programs, if no system image or no manufacturers restore drive - theyre gone.   You will need to email and get your registration product keys and new downloads if you don't have dvd/cd's to reinstall those paid type programs.
