My visual c# command line compiler has stopped working

My computer was fine until last night I updated my windows. I'm not sure if I let the update finish because I was sleeping and closed my computer; however, when i check the windows update history it says the update was successful. Now I get a pop up saying my visual C# command line compiler has stopped working and they keep popping up anytime I try to run any program. It is making my computer slow as well. I used spybot and it says I don't have any problems. I have tried to use my command prompt sfc /scannow and it stops during the verification process at exactly 35% saying systems could not perform the requested operation.

Method 1:

 

Check if you can experience the issue in ‘Safe mode’; if safe mode works fine then set the computer to ‘Clean boot’ state to check for software conflicts.

Step 2:

Keep the computer on a clean boot and check for the issue status. If everything works fine after a clean boot, you can infer that some third party services are causing the problem. Proceed with the remaining steps to pin-point out the third party service. After you figure out the problem causing program, you may have to update or install a higher version of the program, if you seldom use that software you can consider uninstalling it.

Thanks for that simple solution. It worked for me very well. A start up program was the one causing this problem in my Computer. Same technique of elimination described at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 worked for me. Thanks mate!
