Error 0x80071A91 while trying to perform a backup on Windows 7 computer

Original title: error 0x80071A91
after completing making system image and system repair discs attempted to make a back up on both a disc and wd external drive .could not do. recieved  following:Transaction support within the specified resource manager is not started or was shut down due to an error (0x80071A91 ).

I want to make a back up for 2 reasons 1 to install a 2nd internal hard drive and 2 starting windows 7 has become a problem in that it does not always load and then with out any rhyme or reason it will load after many attemps.can always start in safe mode.

running windows 7 ultimate 32 bit on a Dell XPS 630i

Ihesitate shutting down due 2 the problems of loading windows on start up

   Finally got everything in order.Sorry for the late reply.Had to have everything reinstalled.After windows 7 was reinstalled was able to get what files i wanted from a backup I had on an external drive of the old vista os.
