Dxgkrnl.sys make windows 7 bsod

Hai,
i have a problem with my windows 7, it so often crash. it seem cause by "dxgkrnl.sys". i installed "windbg" and "whocrashed" and here what it say:

On Mon 12/28/2009 4:35:32 AM your computer crashed

my PC spec. :
windows 7 ultimate clean install
Abit AN78GS motherboard chipset nForce 720a
ATI 4670 VGA
Athlon X2 6000+ processor
Seagate 80 GB sata
Maxtor 320 GB sata
Triple boot XP, Vista, 7

and also, i'm not overclocking,all cable & conector OK,VGA and motherboard Checked and OK, canging my PSU to 550 watt, updating VGA driver to latest version, but still didn't solve my problem.

I think this is more to software problem than the hardware problem, because it never happen in my XP,

the crash often happen in idle state, example: while i arranging my files,do some menu exploring,listening to music, and rarely happen while in "work hard" state, play game, defrag my disk, converting videos.

please help me guys...

Hi,

Please als try older drivers as well.

If it ok that you plug your RAM into DIMM4? Some baords require that you put the RAM into DIMM1 upwards.

hi again andre,

i'd said before that i 'd try to use older Ati driver, but no luck, still crash... and the reason i put my RAM on dimm4 is so "he could stay away from processor heat" which is the farthest slot. i think it's no problem any where it put 'cause i only use single slot (single channel).

but i take your advice and put it back to dimm1. and so i run test on it for about 2 days without any crash! this my best record!.just when i starting to blame my self to put my RAM on dimm4 is the source of the problem, suddenly it stop to responding and turning the screen to all pure white glare!(white screen of death???) now this is new, and happen again about 40 minutes later after manual reset.and the worst part is that it doesn't have kernel dump writen !.so i can't tell the "suspect" now.to make sure that my RAM nothing goes wrong, i replace with 2 pieces Visipro DDR2 667 (512mb X 2) dual channel on dimm 1 and 2. 9 minutes later, it's "whitening" again without any "last word".things getting worse now.i have no other tries to RAM section.

being almost crazy,then i switch back to use the onboard card (nVidia GeForce 8200). but i'm not disconnect my Ati card, i just "tell the bios to never mind my Ati card and use only the onboard one". the nVidia driver are version 186.11. not newest but not so old.

and so i tested it play movie,some 3D game that not heavy,listening to music,arranging my collection,etc. and hey...! not even a single crash today, this look good. and still continue testing it.... i'll tell you more later.
