Tweak UI or X-Setup or Classic Shell for Windows 7?

Hi All,

I am finding a need to tweak some settings and I am finding this a lot harder in 7 than it was in XP. Basically at this point I am frustrated.

I was reading up on Registry Settings and realized that I would like to jump feet first into editing my personalization settings.

Does anyone know if I can use any of the three utilities listed above and if so if they have tried them, whether there is only one download of each or if there is anything special about them with regard to Windows 7 etc, etc.

THANKS

Answer

Tweak UI is not suitable for use with Vista or Windows 7.

The guys behind X Setup went bust and there is no longer support or help for it.

Classic Shell doesn't bring back Windows Classic shell in its original form, just a few features and more of the classic look than anything else.

Ultimate Tweaker is probably the best, but just like Tweak UI, you can get into a mess with it if you are not careful..

Windows 10 Pro - Start10 - part of a local network which is a '3rd party optimizer-free' zone..
