Windows 10 Pro - RDR_File System BSOD

Hello All

For about 3 weeks I have been having at random intervals sometimes frequently throughout the day Blue Screen of Death Crashes with the following error code: RDR_File_System or rdbss.sys.

Laptop is a HP 450 G2, there was 1 x 4GB Ram module but was upgraded with 2 x 8GB modules. Ram modules were inserted approximately 2 months ago and BSOD's started roughly 3 weeks ago. I cannot think of anything else that was loaded or installed that would cause in problems.

I have changed virus scans, was using Defender but changed to Panda cloud. Have also disabled indexing and OneDrive. I disabled Syncplicity and not sure what else to try.

I have done a memtest and I get 6 Passes.

Please see: OneDrive Upload  for the minidump files

Is there anything I can do or try please?

This is a fairly uncommon Crash code.

One possible cause of this bug check is depletion of nonpaged pool memory. If the nonpaged pool memory is completely depleted, this error can stop the system. However, during the indexing process, if the amount of available nonpaged pool memory is very low, another kernel-mode driver requiring nonpaged pool memory can also trigger this error.   Did you replace the 4gb with 16gb?  In other words did you remove the 4gb and your current total is 16gb, or did you add 16 making your current total 20Gb?

I would start by running a system file check (&DISM)

Please run a system file check (SFC) & DISM  if you are on win 8 or higher

All instructions are in our Wiki article below...Should you have any questions please ask us.

I would update the following drivers

ew_jubusenum.sys    1/30/2011 6:19:33 AM
ISCTD64.sys    11/27/2012 3:52:34 PM
dsNcAdpt.sys    1/25/2013 9:11:02 PM
CLVirtualDrive.sys    11/11/2013 11:31:36 PM
VClone.sys    5/3/2014 12:53:40 PM
TeeDriverx64.sys    9/23/2014 4:01:14 PM
ElbyCDIO.sys    12/17/2014 7:30:51 PM

How To Find Drivers:

Do not use device manager it may tell you the device is up to date but will not tell you if it is corrupt

Search Google for the name of the driver, or go to the computer makers site.

Compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
Visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
If there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program

The most common drivers are listed on these pages:
http://www.carrona.org/dvrref.php
http://sysnative.com/drivers/

Driver manufacturer links are on this page: http://www.carrona.org

One thing of note is that on March 11 you installed (or updated) HD-Hypervisor-amd64.sys.

Finally if nothing else helped I would run driver verifier to try and diagnose any underlying issue

To answer your questions and provide feedback so far:

  1. Yes I replaced the 4GB with 2 8 GB's making total 16GB installed.
  2. I have run a SFC and DISM on the SFC which I ran 4 times just to make sure I was left with the message: "

C:\WINDOWS\system32>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan.  This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some
of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For
example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not
supported in offline servicing scenarios."

2.2: So went ahead and did the DISM, running through all the options and prompts left with:

"

C:\WINDOWS\system32>DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth && DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

^^ Not sure where to go from here?

2.3: DISM Log file

3: To do with "One thing of note is that on March 11 you installed (or updated) HD-Hypervisor-amd64.sys". That was related to an android emulator Bluestacks which I have uninstalled.

As I said  BCC 27 is fairly rare.  In maybe 40,000 BSOD'S I have seen it maybe 10 times.

In reading further there have been several references to HD controllers.  I would also run the two below tests.  I also noticed several references to volume labels being incorrect (or absent) which also related to HD.

The reason you are having issues with SFC & DISM is because the ISO you are using is 10586.0, while I suspect the actual OS is something higher (like 10586.164)

I would remove hypervisior (since only bluestacks needed it

Can we get a look at your event viewer logs?

Please read this wiki to find out how to find and upload your event viewer logs

To test a suspect HD You should do 2 things as described in this wiki

If push comes to shove I would revert the memory back (though I dont think that is it) or perhaps do a wipe and repave.

Good Morning

Sorry about delay, Here as requested my event logs up until today.

The ISO I was trying SFC & DISM with is the same ISO I installed Windows 8.1 Pro but obviously updated to Windows 10, so I presume I'd have to make an ISO from current OS installation.

I never had a crash once yesterday while at the office. The moment I got back home as I connected to my WiFi at home I had a blue screen crash again. Could it be related to my WiFi at home ? I have not had a BSOD crash while at the office yet.

I am testing the HD again, are there any programs which fix references to volume labels being incorrect (or absent)?
