*BUG REPORT* Win 10 Fall Creator's update broke HEVC support in Films/Movies & TV app

What the subject says. Before the update, HEVC/x265/h265 played with no problems, after the update I only have the sound, no more video, x264 still works fine.

GPU is a Nvidia GTX1060 6gb with the latest drivers, changing drivers, aka, rolling back, did not help. Running the windows media troubleshooter did not help.

Win 10 Pro version: 1709
Build: 16299.15

GPU drivers: Used to work before the update with 387.92, did not after the update. I tried rolling back to 385.41 and updating to 388.00, both failed to solve the problem, everything else works perfectly as far as I am aware.

Would you kindly hunt down and kill this bug please? Thanks!

I am content creator on YouTube and I have the same problem that makes my life harder. HEVC is no longer supported in Windows. 
The only way that works for me is to play it in PowerDirector that I use for editing.

The spyware/malware/bloatware you are referring to has been disabled the moment I installed Windows 10. You have all the information you need to replicate the bug and fix it. You broke HEVC support, that's all you need to know.

CPU: X3470 ( i7-870 lynnfield equivalent )
Mobo: Asus P7P55D with latest bios
Ram: 8gb DDR3 Corsair @ 1800mhz
GPU: EVGA GTX1060 6gb with latest drivers

Win 10 Pro version: 1709
Build: 16299.15

The decoder now resides in extension you need to additionally install from Store.

Installing it basically returns the missing piece of the software (specifically, Movies & TV player would play H.265/HEVC footage), however other introduced changes might still be breaking for third party software.
