Release Notes for Skype 8.61

Skype is now incredibly broken. The link between Skype, People and Outlook has disappeared. There used to be a "Call with Skype" in the contact list in People. You used to be able to tell Skype to sync your outlook contacts. That's all gone now, so the only contact list you have available is the one in Skype itself. This is a huge disappointment and has completely crippled the program for me. Please bring these features back.

Could you please shed more ligth how the new 15 version will be deployed for Skype UWP App and for Skype application? Should I download anything manually or both incarnations will update automatically?

Good of you to get the release notes out (though as of this writing not actually on the release notes page), probably not many days before 8.62. I know you like to wait a while, but 8.61 came out a couple weeks ago. No one else waits that kind of time.

Onto a more pressing matter, it's been about FOUR MONTHS since this terrible, no-good presence issue has reared its ugly head for some. Here's but one thread about it:

I think it's probably time to get it fixed or at least acknowledge its existence. You do have a Known Issues page for a reason. Use it for important things like this.

And yes, this was reported via the app about four months ago by myself and others. I even reported it again a couple months ago.

Were you opted in to the Preview/Insider version of Skype there? If so, the transition happened months ago.

If not, it's probably just taking its sweet time (slowly rolling out).

And to answer an earlier question: nothing to do, it happens automatically and transparently.

I just got updated to Skype 8.61.0.100 via the windows store and now skype wont start at all!

MY BIG ISSUE after this update is that the small overlay skype video screen does not pop up anymore when I shame my screen.

What happened? Why skype did this? It is so inconvenient now.

When I share my screen to the caller, I cannot see his face anymore - cannot see his reactions etc...

I hate it now. Please fix it ASAP.

Uh oh. This is bad. I hope they fix it promptly.

Edit: just tried it. While I can not see reduced sized video screen, as you pointed out, we can hear each other just fine.

Still would like to have the video back. 

This version is a hot mess. But normal for Microsoft. Half the time when I call with cam the cam don't work. Will say cannot find cam yet the cam is there when I go to settings and working. Then if I end the call instead of having the cam icon to call you now have resume call. 

It might work the second time but any glitch makes the cam go off and I have to end the call then resume. Why did the super bright team decide to do away with the cam call icon after calling. 

This on windows 10 desktop. It wasn't acting right with the last update either but now worse. You broke the way the cam works and nothing wrong with my cam. It simply won't find the cam half the time with first calling or when something happens that might cause a connection quick drop.
