Sync & merge calendars in Outlook

I would like to know if there is any way you can merge an internet (or "other calendar") calendar into your primary calendar. The sync works from the internet calendar into Outlook 2016 & Office 365, but the only way to merge them is to do an overlay.

Unfortunately, an overlay is not sufficient because it is just 2 separate calendars on top of each other. I need them merged as one, so when I share my calendar, others within my organization can see the internet calendar events and my primary calendar events together in one calendar. The overlay only allows ME to see to see them together, not anyone I share with.

Hi Matta114,

I suggest you export the calendar information which you want to be merged into your primary calendar, and then import that file to your primary calendar.

Export your calendar information to a PST file:

Click file----Open&Export---import and export---export to a file--outlook data file (.PST) --choose the specific calendar (include subfolders or not) ---choose a place to save ( you may need to create a password for that file)

Import your calendar information from a PST file:

Click file----Open&Export---Import and Export---Import from Another Program or File---Outlook Data File (. PST) ---Choose file---Import items to the current folder (Choose your specific folder and you may need to type the password of that PST file)

The image  below shows  you want to import Outlook calendar.

The image  below shows  you want to import iCalendar like Google Calendar.

Moreover, you need to import and export that internet calendar again when you make some changes to that iCalendar and want to share the newest information with other people.

Regards,
Alison

Hi Alison,

I appreciate the response. I am aware of this process, but unfortunately it will not work in my case. I actively use both calendars, so, I would have to constantly do this. It would be less time consuming for me to just create a duplicate event in the other calendar versus going to this process each time - and this is what I was trying to fix in the first place.

There has to be a way to automate this?

I was having the same issue, but because I am using OutlookOnTheDesktop. OotD only lets you display one calendar in one instance, with no overlay option.

PattiBush provided the fix. CodeTwo offers several programs. The one that you want is an Outlook addin called FolderSync, found here:

Thank you, PattiBush!
