Already there are nearly 30 things here. Many have been raised before and there are different opinions about some of these. Some are impractical to implement and only of a one off advantage on install to a very small number of people eg preserving personal
start page layouts from Win 8 when the design philosophy between the two is different and more than half of Win 8.1 users and more than 2/3rds of Win 8 users have already left Win 8.x behind them
I'd really appreciate it if you'd leave it to the development team to decide what is impractical to implement.
What data are you citing to determine that an item is only "a one off advantage on install to a very small number of people" and "more than 2/3rds of Win 8 users have already left Win 8.x behind"?
As an IT consultant assisting clients with upgrading from Windows 8 I have spent multiple hours just rebuilding start screens. Unlike many, I trained my users on how to use the Start Screen and many have customized it to their liking. Losing those customizations
(and the absence of syncing) has cost a lot of time and I'd thank you to not fight my efforts to save that time in the future.
I've tried to be diplomatic, but while you have made valuable contributions to this thread, many times your messages have been combative and judgmental. Previously, there was very little debate about features here. People stated what they missed from 8.1,
talked about what they'd like to see, and other people chimed in if they agreed or didn't. While I haven't read every message, I can't remember anyone authoritatively telling another poster why they didn't need something or why Microsoft shouldn't implement
their request.
Please -- let us ask for what we want, and trust the development team to decide what is worth implementing. They have a lot more data from which to make those determinations that we do here.
If you want to debate a request, feel free to create a new thread and link it here. Otherwise, please allow the thread moderators to continue the excellent job they've done in collating our requests, tracking feedback links, and noting implementation/fix
status.
I sincerely hope I do not offend you by writing this, and I hope you continue to help us call attention to the remaining rough edges within Windows 10.
