XBOX Original Game Doesn't Start

Hi All,

 

I have XBOX 360 S and I tried to download an Original XBox game "Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex" and it's fully downloaded but doesn't start. Whenever I start the game -Pressing A while in My Games- a black screens comes for couple seconds then an error message shows "The game couldn't start. Try downloading the game again. For more help vist (support website)".

The Game is downloaded to the Hard Drive (250GB with 163 free space). I have tried to delete and re-download the game but that didn't work. Also I have cleared the cache, deleted all the corrupted files from my Hard Drive and redownloaded the game .. but nothing happened.

I have download an add-on three days before that -for FORZA HORIZON- and it works perfectly .. Also, after I downloaded this game I downloaded an On-Demand game and it works just fine.

Note: This is the first time I download an Original XBOX Game,, Also the game doesn't have a picture in "MY GAMES" menu!

 

What should I do?

Did the hard drive you're using come with the console when you purchased the console or did you buy the hard drive after from Ebay maybe or Amazon from a private seller? In 99% of cases the error you're seeing turns out to be that the hard drive is not a genuine Microsoft hard drive.

How would I know if mine is not genuine?

I bought it from Amazon but the seller was Microsoft .. 250GB on August 28,2011 for about $85

The packaging looks similar, however the product is sold through Amazon not by Amazon and the reviews do state that people who ordered the drive expected a genuine Microsoft product and actually received a third party drive. I honestly believe the drive you got is not a genuine Microsoft hard drive. If you have tried all the suggestions in the link I posted in my previous post and you still get the error message then I would suggest if possible that you contact the seller and request a refund and return the hard drive.

I agree with  ThingOnAString...  Amazon has gotten as bad as eBay when it comes to sellers allowing buyers to think they're getting something they aren't.   I NEVER buy electronics or games online, unless I'm downloading them from the marketplace.  If the price you're paying is too good to be true, its because it is.

ms doesnt sell on amazon or ebay

they have their own retail and etailer service
