Years ago, when the 360 came out I wanted to make sure I bought a system that was backwards compatible, so I bought a 360 system with a hard drive.
However, I was unhappy back then. I had the ability to play some of my old games like Fable, but I was not able to play one of my favorite games: The Elder Scrolls III Morrowind (Game of the Year Edition). I gave up and just played the game on my family's original
xbox system.
Years later after playing The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion and going to college, The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim is announced to come out for the 360. I have the sudden desire to go back and play The Elder Scrolls III Morrowind
(Game of the Year Edition). I look up online to see if there is anyway for me to play the game and I find the article "Play original Xbox games on an Xbox 360 console Last Modified 02/09/2011" http://support.xbox.com/en-gb/xbox-360/how-to/play-original-games
in which The Elder Scrolls III Morrowind is listed. I am excited. Unfortunately, I do not have an internet connection that allows me to connect my 360 to xbox live. Instead I download the update to a USB drive and a CD and install the update to my 360. The
update works great. I have a new dash board and get more excited. I insert my perfect condition disk of The Elder Scrolls III Morrowind (Game of the Year Edition) into my system... It recognized the disk and title The Elder Scrolls III Morrowind (Game of the
Year Edition) ...but...
"This original xbox game is not supported on your xbox 360 console. An update to support this game may be available. For more info go to www.xbox.com/games x:5805.0 B:1884.0"
D: Devastation. I am now very unhappy. I email xbox support for help, but get nothing useful in return: Service Request Number 1161065988
I call 1-800-4MY-XBOX (1161546661) and they tried to help but did not know what to do.
Please let me know if there is a way to fix this error code without connecting to xbox live. I have done everything I can think of. I can still play other original xbox games. My friend can play The Elder Scrolls III Morrowind (Game of the Year Edition) on
her original 360 with no problems. I would like to play mine. Please help,
