HELP!!! Trying to System Link for Black Ops for the first time......

My 2 sons both have COD Black Ops.  I bought this cable at Wal-Mart because it says Ethernet Cable Cat 6.  I saw in some of the reviews that people used it for gaming, so I assumed it would work.  They turned off their consoles.  Then plugged in the cable.  Then turned on the XBOX 360 S (both of them).  Went into Multiplayer and System Link and it will not recognize the player on the 2nd console.  What is wrong?  I read on one site that you need a cross-over Ethernet Cable.  I don't even know what that is and I wouldn't know what to look for.  Is the set-up wrong or is this the wrong type of cable?  Where can I get the correct cable if the problem is the cable?

Is this cable OK for System Link?   http://www.walmart.com/ip/Belkin-25-Foot-Cat6-Ethernet-Cable/4660734

That should work but I am no expert in LAN stuff. Whenever I did system link on Black Ops it was when both consoles were hooked up to the same router and not directly by ethernet.
