GTA San Andreas Marketplace D/L, Disc Error

Hi, I was reading on another thread about this issue and the person helping advised to start a new thread so that is what brings me here & now.  I downloaded this game to my Xbox 360 a few months ago but never really got into the game until recently.  I 1st had problems when I went into Angel Pines, the message said something about my disc being scratched or dirty.  It happened at the same point in the game twice, so I just went around that part of the map that was causing the issue and continued on.  Now I am in San Fiero and this issue is happening more frequently, one spot in particular where I attempt to use the aim function it locks up every time.

I cleaned the cache.  I deleted some of my other games I had saved, I don't know how to add on 9GB of data, but I did delete 25GB, so perhaps that will help if I redownload?  I haven't deleted this game because I have been worried about having to rebuy the game or how to even go about getting it to re-d/l without having to buy it.

I have the 2.9 GB download of the game.  My machine has a 320GB HDD.

I do have one other question, I accidently deleted my saved game from another game.  It was Red Dead Redemption, I didn't delete the disc download game file, I deleted everything I did playing it.  Is there anyway to recover that?  I was almost complete with that game

Hey there, Rawuncutnxrated. If for any reason you uninstall the game you can always redownload it from your purchase history. Can you try uninstalling the content, clearing your system's cache, and reinstalling to see if that helps?

To speak to your second question, unfortunately there's not a way to recover saved games once they've been deleted.

Thank you very much for getting back to me.  So, I can delete the game & re-d/l it but do I have to do anything special about my saved game in regards to San Andreas?  I don't want to lose my progress.  Thanks.

Nope, you can just delete the game and re-download it. This process doesn't get rid of the saved games. You can uninstall it by doing the following: Xbox 360 Dashboard > Settings > System > Storage > Hard Drive > Games and Apps > Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas > Find the large file > Press A > Delete.

Then simply re-download from your download history by going to Xbox 360 Dashboard > Settings > Account > Download History.

You guys are awesome, thank you very much.

I have another question, I was trying to put music onto my machine to play on Fight Night & other games, I got stumped a while back & just gave up.  I tried to use a thumb drive & then tried to put it on a disc, nothing worked.  Any advice?

I thought about using my 8GB thumb drive to just back up all my saved games, not the actual games but my progress in each, having it in 2 places.  Is this something that others do?  Would you advise it or is it just too complex?

Again, I really appreciate it & will update about my success or fail.

Well, that solved one problem while creating a new one.  I can now go to those areas and take pictures; however, my new problem is that the pictures I was needing to take were of "collectibles" and they would have a little "bubble" indicating where the picture was to be taken, well those bubbles are not there anymore.  I had 6 of those left and I went to the locations, some I had seen before and others I hadn't & they aren't there.  I attempted to just take the picture where it should be & it didn't register.  I went ahead & tried to delete again & re-download and that didn't solve it.  I will try to clean the cashe again.  Any other suggestions?

I'm willing to try to put 9 GBs on here, if you can help me put on a bunch of music.

Thank you very much for helping me.  I am glad I can drive through the area & not have to start over again.

Hi there, Rawuncutnxrated. Yes, you can copy your saved onto a secondary storage device. When you tried to move your music over, did you burn them onto a disc that you can play on your console? If so, you should be able to rip the music.

Regarding your issue with the game itself, can you try clearing the cache again and let us know if that helps? Thanks!

I did clean the cache again, and then the lights on top the taxi came on.  I think it helped clean up some of the picture too.  That didn't help solve the problem though.  So I then did this:

◦Can I have you try deleting the game from your downloads

◦Clear your cache

◦Download 9GB of alternate content (to write over the space on the HDD)

◦Restart your hardware

◦Download GTA again.

And that didn't solve the issue either.  I have been able to locate oysters, so those collectibles are available but the small balloon denoting the photo ops are not there.  I have attempted to take pictures of where they "should" be but don't register.

Hey there Raw! Trying to catch myself up here, it sounds like your current issue is these in-game collectibles are not showing properly, is that correct? Can you let us know how you know their locations, was this in a strategy guide or online?

For in-game issues like this, I would recommend trying to contact the publisher or developer to see if this is an issue they're aware of and possibly can provide support for. Let us know what you find out, thanks!
