Favorite class and why

Damn this forum is dead, anyway I am just wondering what is everyone's favorite class to play and why,  I either go as a 2H warrior, sword and shield warrior, or DW rogue,  I like to be in the middle of the action with blood flying all around me and have my swords and axes dripping in blood.  I have only completed one mage playthrough and I can't bring myself to play as an archer (sorry archery fans but sitting back and firing little arrows with my bow doesn't appeal to me)

I've only recently bought the game and I love it. I'm a mage on my first playthrough (which I always choose to be in RPG's). I'd love to start it again once I complete it to try out a different race and class but I fear that the game takes too long to complete to play it again. :(

My first playthrough was as a sword and shield warrior, which I loved just for the bashing people with my shield aspect! However I found it really hard to complete the final battle as I had lost Morrigan and just kept dying.

My second playthrough was as a mage, which was really cool and fun, fireballs, walking bombs etc. and I certainly didn't die as much. Also felt I had more control over the battlefield as I was healing teammates as well.

I'm trying another playthrough as a duel-weapon rogue (pretty much just to get the achievement), but I am dying a LOT, and like you I can't stand being an archer either!

@ZombiClone - try changing your partys tactics. When you get a mage change their main tactic to a healer. This might help you...

Only recently got in to this, but my favourite class would be duel-wielding rogue.

Main reason is I hate being forced to have either Zevran or Leliana in my party just to open crates, plus I love taking out the biggest threat at range woth an Arrow of Slaying then getting stuck into melee combat.

I shouldn't even reply since I've only done one playthrough but I'm going to anyways... :)

I love the mage. I took Wynne the majority of the time to be the healer and my mage just delt damage left and right from afar, it was awesome.

*SPOILER*

especially the last battle fighting the archdemon, running behind and freezing it then hitting with the electric bolts, then when it (he/she?) goes to the island area, standing on the side and casting blizzard for repeat damage. great fun!

The short time I would take over some of the other characters (or the Denerim gate fight), I had a hard time with it. I'd be right next to the enemy hitting the 'A' button to attack and nothing would happen, the character would just say their little line 'on it!' and then move around the enemy without striking. Maybe I just don't understand the dynamic of how that fighting works? It was very frustrating. Maybe I am just lame. Will try a warrior for next playthrough to force myself to figure it out but if anyone can help me understand what I am doing wrong, that'd be great.

Thats weird, by pressing A they will move into position and attack, don't know why it didn't work for you. I think you will enjoy the warrior once you get into it.

Maybe it's a timing thing? If it continues to happen in the next playthrough I'll put it on youtube for feedback.

Sometimes it doesn't target properly. If you get that issue again, bring up the radial wheel and put the reticle over your target.

I forgot to come back and update... It was timing, I wasn't giving enough time for the character to move into position before I'd hit A again (cause I thought I had already 'moved them into position')... so I got it now. :)
