boosting

Hi,

My name is Michael and we just bought our 1st x box about 2 months ago. It's for my 9 year old son who got banned for boosting while playing Halo Reach.

At the time we had no clue what had just happened, I mean a 9 year old cheating, I don't think so. I was very suprised how they banned him for boosting with no warning or e-mail. Seemed a bit much but I'm sure they have their reasons. After finding out what boosting was which nobody knows about BTW, I called our cable company and they told me we have a booster because we are out of town a bit and our cable signal is very weak. Therefore our HD cable is fuzzy without it and our high speed internet is extremly slow. Anyway your Xbox Live support team had advised me to post this explaining why we have a cable booster. My sons gamer tag is CanAm07XT and it looks like the ban has been lifted for now but I need your help to prevent this from happening again in the future.

Thank you

Michael McQuay

Some questions,

1. How do you boost on Reach?

2. was it an account ban or were you just banned from playing Bungie games?

3. an email was sent to your WLID account. Either your son put in a fake one, or you checked too early.

OP: I think you might be confused about "boosting", or possibly I am just reading your post incorrectly. The term "boosting" refers to teams of players working together to "boost" a persons stats in the game by allowing themselves to be killed without fighting back, etc. This ruins the gameplay experience for the other players in the match. If you were banned from the game, you'd have to contact the developers of the game. If you were banned from Xbox LIVE in general, you'd have to post here (forums.xbox.com/.../41.aspx) and ask for more information.
