Xbox Live Issues - error code 8007274c

I have never had problems with Xbox Live until recently when I had an upgrade in broadband package. I am with BT, package is Infinity, fibre optic, BT HomeHub3.

The download speed is roughly 35mb, and when tested wirelessly on pc its usually 17mbps. Upload 8mbps.

What keeps happening is I will turn xbox on, search for a game in call of duty eg. and find a game fine. If i leave after 1 game and go to search again it won't find any and then when I got to the dashboard I will be given the error message code: 8007274c, or 73-8007274c. I don't what what it is or what it means.

I have got upnp enabled, port forwarding xbox live with correct ports from the support site.

I have set the IP to static so it doesn't change and affect port forwarding.

If I become host, the connection will be good for ages and then randomly the connection will slowly degrade over 20-30seconds until it lags out and ends the session.

I have reset modem and router a few times. Had these issues for about a week now.

Xbox Live will randomly disconnect at times. Sometimes I cannot connect to friends chat party. If I test connection on dashboard there will show no errors and I can join parties and games for a minute after the test connection, after that time period it goes back to how it was.

Also I have noticed that when connection to xbox live (wirelessly with xbox slim) my connection is 802.11g not 802.11n, and my router is transmitting on b,g and n so why isn't my console connected to "n"? I have a strong 3 bar out of 4 signal and the router is 2 floors down.

Run out of ideas. I don't know if this is an issue I need to contact my ISP about or not.

This is very long but I thought the most detail I put, the easier it should be to advise me?

Please HELP! Thanks

Hey thanks for the reply.

What Country/State/Province do you live in? United Kingdon, England, London

Modem brand & model number: Openworld modem

Router brand & model number: BT HomeHub3

Network Connection Type: Wireless

If Wireless, what type of encryption are you using? WPA2-PSK

If Wireless, are you using a white or black external adapter, or an internal (Xbox 360S) adapter? Internal XB360 slim

Things you have tried: On the router, Port forwarded all the ports for xboox 360. Tried using a static IP address so ports are always forwarded for the correct IP. Back to Automatic at the moment. Restarting Moden and router. Upnp on, transmit at 40Hz wireless n, transit 802.11b,g,n. Test connection on dashboard numerous times. Can't think if there are other things I have tried.

Is UPnP Enabled? Yes

Is NAT Type Open? Yes Open

Any Error Codes you encounter: 8007274c, 73-8007274c

What type of internet do you have? Cable to cabinet, then copper to house

Who is your ISP(Internet Service Provider)? BT

After you run "Test Xbox LIVE connection" and click on "More info", what is the exact message shown on screen? I don't get an error message after testing connection, I get error messages after coming from a game to the dashboard.

Please don't discard the other info I gave in my first message as there might be clues to my problem there? I'm wondering if there is a hardware fault as the connection always shows 802.11g rather than 802.11n when my router is transmitting on b,g,n it should pick 'n', and my computer is using wireless and connecting flawlwssly with 802.11n.

Thanks

Hey mate, I'm inclined to think the issue here may be the new router (I'm guessing it was new with the upgraded connection?). That being said, have you tried changing the frequency on your router at all? Also, does your previous router work with the new connection? If so, it my be worth using it to test, to see if that resolves the issue.

support.xbox.com/.../error-code-8007274c may be helpful

(My apologies for providing a US web page, but there's no UK web page for that error yet - which I shall report forthwith).
