Region query.

Would changing  to a NEW windows live address associated with my gamertag to the "proper" physical region in which I live sort the problem out?

 

If not then I'm completely outraged; I live in the north of Ireland, my account is set to Ireland (I'm not even sure how that justifies for a region problem) but... there's a region issue. I have over 2000 MSP that I CANNOT use because of restrictions that Microsoft have put on the marketplace. As far as I know, points aren't transferable between accounts, so my current MSP would go completely to waste and I'd have to buy even more!

When you say north of Ireland do you mean the north of the republic or Ulster?

The county of Derry, so technically speaking it's Ulster.

Changing the region in your email does not change the region of your account. The only way to change an account region is through the account migration tool, but it's only available for these countries - Russia, Poland, Brazil, Hungary, Greece, Czech Republic, South Africa, Colombia, and Chile

whisper there is nothing ms can do about region locks as they are required to abide by international law and distibution rights.

however what you can do is RESET your router and modem

this usually fixes it
