my acct keeps actin funny

try deleting your gamertag only and then deleting the systems cache then downloading your gamertag.

Might be a larger issue, I am having a similar issue and there is at least one more person with this issue. Deleting the cache has not worked, though I did not recover my account and I would prefer not to.

Sounds like you are having an issue with your storage device.  Try running your profile off a usb drive to see if the problem persists.  If it does than you might have more to worry about than a dead hard drive.

I hope it's not an HD issue, I have a 360s so it's built in. Still under warantee, but I will not be happy if its a hardware issue after I bought it to replace my multiple red ringed and repaired 360.

Like Carnage has mentioned, a lot of people are currently having this problem, many reports about it, but so far all the solutions that are currently working for only a few people are either clearing your cache system or recovering your gamertag. I am sure if you contact Microsoft about it, they will be aware of the issue and hence it is not as big as the update error issue, it will be fixed soon.
