error code and sent in twice already

I have spent countless hours of talking to customer service through chat to resolve an issue with my brothers xbox. ive sent it in twice for the same issue even right after its been sent to me, both times ive gotten a paper saying its fixed and up and running until I try to actually run it and get the same error code.

3f45 0000 0080 0300 8007 045d..... ive looked this code up along with a few others that have popped up every time ive tried to update a system update that wont let me update. every time it tells me to test my connection which I do and have full connection with no issues.

this code though refers to something with saying there is no storage device or memory.... im starting to think that maybe its the harddrive that has gone? but Microsoft hasn't said anything about it in the paper work they have sent me just that the xbox is ready for use....

what should I do? this is my brothers xbox that broke down just before he went off to basic training it wasn't even 4months old when it went down and ive been trying to get it repaired for him while he is gone with his military training but im at wits end because ive already sent it in twice and its still not working.

I believe the code has something to do with a hard drive issue. Im sorry for the issues. I had this exact problem with another xbox. For me, all I did was buy a new hard drive. If all else fails you can send it in 1 more time (with a frustrated letter) or just buy a new xbox (cheap as 100). Try buying a new harddrive :) Good luck!

Plug in a USB thumb drive and see if you can DL the update on there.  I'm not sure if it's possible to DL system updates on USB drives but it's worth a try.

the original contact with support suggested a cd or usb, I have tried both with no luck. no matter what I do it gets started in the update then stops and gives me the codes all related to the harddrive.. I guess im going to have to go with a new harddrive as its a new xbox s series which was only bought last august... honestly I don't know why they didn't replace the harddrive when ive sent in the codes with the xbox the last time I sent it in... its more frustrating since its my brothers xbox and I really don't have all the info for it, ive had to had the support team send me a label through my email since I don't know his for his xbox.. its all a bunch of headaches... he has had nothing but bad luck with his 360s over the last few years... he has gone through 3 xboxs now... I still have an original 360 from the first year it came out working strong and I play a lot of games and movies on it.

anyhow thank you all, im going to have to either have to contact them one more time or try the harddrive.... but money is tight right now... which means I cant get a new harddrive for it.

Ugh, that does sound frustrating.  I'm sorry to hear that it's been such a headache for you.  From everything you're describing, I agree.  It does sound to be something hard drive specific, which is not covered in those repairs.  Good news is though, if you do try a different hard drive, and that solves it, it'll be really easy to move all your data to that new drive.

Hey there Plague! Do let us know how the new hard drive works out. If you continue having issues at that point, it would be helpful to know if you are getting the same or a different error code when you try updating. If it is the same, then there may be an issue with the connection between console and hard drive. For that or any other hardware issue, a repair would be the best bet. Let us know how the hard drive goes, thanks!

might be a while before I can get a new harddrive for it.... its not mine and I just don't have the additional cash to buy a new one. but I don't get how support didn't notify me that it was the harddrive when ive sent it in twice... at least they could have notified me that it was indeed the harddrive instead of spending 6 hours in chat, car drives to send it out twice. mehhhhhhhhhh  anyhow whats done is done... all I can hope is that it is the harddrive
