Come on, Microsoft.

Yeah so, this Xbox freezing *** you guys just made a sticky about, wasn't all you should have done about this freezing problem evidently affecting Xbox users.

My Xbox 360 froze around 6 times in a row today, on both my Xbox's. Neither one has ever froze before, yet today they both froze multiple times. This *** made me straight up mad. I'm trying to play Gears of War matches, then all of a sudden *FREEZE*, so then I try playing some Madden 06, it freezes twice, then I try playing Fight Night Round 3 and it freezes of course. This is hindering and basically I got angry. Long story short, I broke one of my Xbox's as I have an anger problem which I'm trying to deal with. Yeah, that sounds stupid but I can't help these things.

I'm not asking for a refund or anything, but could you *** dicks at least when a player signs in, give a little message informing me what to do if my console keeps freezing when this problem started happening? No regular Xbox player who's Xbox is freezing is going to think "Oh, I'll go to forums.xbox.com, then go to the 'Using my console" section, and look for a sticky about this problem." to stop their console from freezing. No one. Nor does that thread show up when you perform a Google search. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's enraged about this constant console freezing, and doesn't first think about going to the forums to find a sticky thread about it.

On top of that, pelase test these updates that caused this to happen, it can't be that hard.

Also, one last thing, what is with the new forums design? It's ugly, and just all around un-user friendly. It could be a lot better, and less painful to use, and a helluva lot faster 'cause this site can be slow as molasses in January.

Hi there,

There is a support link with regards to freezing issues on the support site: http://support.xbox.com/en-us/pages/xbox-360/troubleshoot/hardware/screen-freeze-wizard.aspx

Freezing (also known as a lock up) can be caused when your console overheats, try putting your console in a cool place where it has room to breath and is not near any other electrical equipment that also generates heat.

It is common knowledge amongst the XBL Community that whenever you have any issues with your console and/or profile that you should CLEAR CACHE.

On your console go to MY XBOX>SYSTEM SETTINGS>MEMORY>Hit 'Y' and CLEAR CACHE. Now restart the console. Does this remedy the problem?

What size hard drive do you have on the console? How much FREE space is left on it?

Just an FYI, I did a Google search too and got tons of results related to the console freezing...Have a look for yourself.

I keep my molasses warm, so no issues here

The difference is yesterday wasn't any hotter than previous days, and my house was quite cool. My Xbox's always sit in well ventilated areas, and that BOTH consoles just happening to be freezing repeatedly just yesterday was bizarre.

I'm pretty damn well sure that it isn't common knowledge around the XBL community to clear the chache when you have these problems, unless you're some hardcore gamer who browses the forum everyday. I dare you go to on any Xbox live game and ask as many people you want if they know how to even clear the cache on their console.

I'm willing to bet 95% of people won't even know what a 'cache' even is, never mind how to clear it. I appreciate your attempt to make it seem like your perfect Microsoft doesn't make errors, but really it's not working.

And I may as well say I had a 120 GB HDD that has only about 5GB used on it.

Thanks anyways.
