Can't join games on Dead Island

As far as i know its drop in/out co-op so position on map shouldnt be a problem. i havnt tried co-op so canne offer much more help then that sorry

It's a lot like "Fable II" in that you both have to be in the same place at the same time.

Then you'll recieve a prompt telling you someone's in the area and ask you if you want to join them.

They can also see you playing and simply join you.

I thought it was drop in/out as well. I have seen the little notification come up when someone is near me icon. I've pressed it but it always come back as can't connection. (have open NAT so I know I'm ok there) but if I go to game lobby and try to join, not ONE game will let me.

Wonder if it's because we are still waiting for a patch? Who knows.

Its not just about being in the same area, you have to be at the same point in the story as well, same level or under.

We have the same problem, can't join a game in game lobby and can't connect ingame-is this a launch problem like test drive unlimited 2 and if so, will it be fixed more quickly? Very frustrating as its a great single player game and was hoping the multiplayer experience would be even better.

Over on the Dead Island forums alot of people are reporting issues with co-op, quite a few even reporting losing their saves after playing co-op, I for one am waiting on the update/patch before venturing into co-op play.

Ive done co-op and lost no saves. The greyed out issue means you have your online settings set to private slots, if you change them to public slots everything should be fine, not many ppl know that thats why their names are in grey.

So if I set my settings to public, I can join others?


Bit unnerving about the people loosing their saves though.

yes.

When you or someone drops out the game gives you the option to load from your last save or not so id hazard a guess ppl choose not too n just carry on.
