Can I Use Xbox 360 External Hard Drive for Xbox One

Hi Xbox folk!

I know it's weird question but, I have to ask. Can I use Xbox 360 external hard drive for Xbox One? Because I can't  find Xbox One external hard drive for Xbox One in my country.

If it's not work, I have to order from Amazon or other retailers.

Bests,

Hi there!

Your external hard drive usage on your Xbox One depends on a few points.

Your external HDD must be USB 3.0, at least 256GB, and must be formatted for use by the Xbox One, meaning any content already on it will be deleted.

Hi denixius,

the HDD for an xbox one needs to be USB 3.0 and more than 256GB as medium bloke said above - it can either be powered via the USB socket or can be powered via your normal wall socket. When you first plug it into your xbox it will walk you through getting it set up/formatted.

There are lots of external drives to choose from in lots of different sizes. Most should work - but if not you should be able to exchange it. You can actually plug up to three drives into your xbox so you don't need to opt for the biggest/most expensive one! I personally use a Western Digital/WD My Passport Ultra as its small and is powered by the xbox.

Hope that helps!
