When I log on to my Xbox it asks which profile I want to select.

I choose mine.

When I then choose any of the apps for instance 'Iplayer, 40d, netflix' etc. It logs me out and comes up with 'you must be signed in to Xbox live to use 40d'

I then can click 'sign in to Xbox live' or 'Exit'

I can then reselct my account to get into the app.

 

When I then exit the app I get error status:8b050008-00000000-00000000 come up and logs me out of my accout back in the Dashboard.

8b050008 codes tend to relate to the console/app requiring an update.

There is an Xbox Dashboard update out today according to Major Nelson - majornelson.com/.../the-next-xbox-live-update-for-xbox-360-is-here so could be related to that.

If you have the update, try to delete the Netflix app from your console and re-download to see if that helps. If it does, try it on your other apps.
