the installer cannot run in this UI mode,To specify the interface mode, use the -i command option, follow by the Ui mode identifier, the valid Ui modes identifiers are GUI ,Cosole and Silent

trying to install a software ,a message popped up saying "the installer cannot run in this UI mode,To specify the interface mode, use the -i command option, follow by the Ui mode identifier, the valid Ui modes identifiers are GUI ,Cosole and  Silent".....I have no idea what UI and GUI really are or  the whole massage is about ...I simply installed the software on my the other computer with another operating system on.....so I think it has something to do with incompatibility with windows....whats the solution to the error???if you dont know please tell me the site or sites where I can get some information from

Answer

Hi Kasra,

1. Which software were you trying to install?

2. Does the issue persist while installing a particular software?

I understand the frustration when things don't work as expected.

You can check the compatibility of any software and hardware from the link mentioned below:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/compatibility/CompatCenter/Home

The issue would have occurred if the software is not compatible with Windows 8, as rightly pointed by you.

Make older programs compatible with this version of Windows

If you need any further assistance with Windows Operating System, please post your query on Microsoft Community Forums and we’ll be glad to assist you with it.
