The windows 8 photo app does not detect any images on the Pictures library, nor does it sync with Skydrive or Facebook. This happened after I uninstalled the app out of frustration. Does anyone have a solution for this ?
Same problem here, uninstalled the picture app, re-installed, the pictures on the local drive were missing.
I was able to get this to work by modifying the indexing options as someone else had mentioned earlier. Of course, it was nearly impossible to figure out where the indexing options were, so while this is still fresh in my memory, let me see if I can recall
the steps:
open control panel
search for "indexing options"
Under indexing options click "Change how windows searches"
Once in the Indexing Option windows, click modify
expand the C drive by clicking on the little triangle left of the C drive
expand the users folder
put a check box in your profile name by clicking the box to the left of your profile.
press OK
Of course, your mileage may vary, but I was able to see pictures in just a few moments.
