Wifi/ethernet not working after windows 10 update

Hello, I updated my laptop almost two weeks ago to Windows 10 version 1607, and now I am having issues with my wifi/Ethernet. Randomly my wifi will stop working and my computer will say that my Ethernet cable is not plugged in or it is not working. The only way to temporarily solve the problem is to restart my computer and somehow the problem fixes itself. However, the wifi continues to work perfectly fine on my other devices. I would like to know if there is a solution for this, or can I go back to the previous version I had? I'm a college student and I need a reliable computer!! Thanks in advance.

Please provide more information so that the cause of your problem may be diagnosed.

Please restart your computer and allow 20 minutes for the system to run before uploading information required to help me investigate your problem. When examining Event Viewer log files many, not all, problems show in the period immediately after the computer has been booted.

Please provide a copy of your System Information file. To access your System Information file select the keyboard shortcut Win+R, type msinfo32 and click OK . Place the cursor on System Summary. Select File, Export and give the file a name noting where it is located. Click Save. Files in the txt file format are preferred.Do not place the cursor within the body of the report before exporting the file. The system creates a new System Information file each time system information is accessed. You need to allow a minute or two for the file to be fully populated before exporting a copy. Please upload the file to your OneDrive, share with everyone and post a link here. If the report is in a language other than English, please state the language.

Please upload to your OneDrive and share with everyone a copy of your System log file from your Event Viewer and post a link here. Please remove any earlier copies of the logs from your OneDrive.

To access the System log select the keyboard shortcut Win+R, type eventvwr.msc and press the ENTER key. From the list in the left side of the window select Windows Logs and System. Place the cursor on System, select Action from the Menu and Save All Events as (the default evtx file type) and give the file a name. Do not provide filtered files. Do not place the cursor in the list of reports before selecting Action from the menu. Do not clear logs whilst you have a continuing problem.

It's amazing the speed with which no one has helped with this problem. Next time I don't need help, I know just where to go.

Hmn. This is interesting.

Thank you for your reply. On the one hand, I clearly owe you an apology for my sarcasm, given that as I now see, there were several responses. In that vein, my sincere apologies. I did not see the responses which an email alerts me to today, even after checking repeatedly. I should not have been so snide, since several people responded promptly.

On the other hand, I did wait two months before saying anything, and did check repeatedly. It is suggestive that I was notified of these responses only after in exasperation I finally said something sarcastic, two months later. I already had checked the box, "Receive email notifications", and yet received such notifications only today, after following up in exasperation.

The problem should not arise again if you monitor your profile list. Thanks for your update.

Thank you. By "the" problem, do you mean the problem I posted about with wifi, or the problem that I did not receive notification of the responses to my post about my problem with wifi? Either way, how would I "monitor [my] profile list"?

Also either way, it is now two months later, and many Windows updates later too, and this problem with wifi is still recurring. I have of course responded to the questions asked of me about my original post, but as of yet, have been given no possible solutions, other than that my drivers may be wrong, which I anticipated in my original post. Is this problem still the intractable mystery it seemed to be a year ago?

A suggestion if you are using Internet Explorer 9, 10 or 11. You can also use this approach if you are using Edge.

Access your profile. Make sure you have signed in. Click on All Threads, click on the Star towards the top right of the screen (you will need to press F11 to see it if you are reading Full Screen), click the scroll to the right of Add to Favourites and select Add to Favourites Bar. Thank you. I will keep that in mind when I use those browsers, and I appreciate the suggestion. Meanwhile, I will await with tremulous hope any possible resolution of my more than year-long wifi problem.
