Windows 10x for insiders to install on their own devices

I was wondering if windows insiders will eventually be allowed to install windows 10x for testing on various devices as I have a Samsung tablet with an i5 3317u I would like to try it on.

Only official way is to use Win 10X emulator.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dual-screen/windows/get-dev-tools

There is available unofficial instructions how to install Win 10X and run on hardware, but I leave finding and applying those instructions completely to your own decision.

Update = Replace old bugs with new ones.

Hi Vega,

You can now go to MS Store and search for Windows 10x, you also need MS Emulator to ran it. I have it installed on my SP4 but its too slow as I have not got enough memory.

I've encountered limitations on Processor compatibility with Windows 10.

Try and match your i5 with Intel's web page:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000006105/processors.html

It seems that Intel have limited Win 10 x32 to Atom / Celeron processors while limiting Pentium / i Core to 64bit versions only. The Intel web site has a lot of "No" for Windows 10 32bit driver support with iCore / Pentium processors.

Windows 10 64bit needs a minimum of 4GB RAM.

Driver support will possibly be a problem.

I have a "Unisurf" tablet that came with Windows 8 installed (back in 2014). Whenever I update to new versions of Windows 10, it will fail with some drivers for touch screen and especially screen rotation sensors. I have to install those from a cache I saved from the original Windows 8 OEM set (Win 8 drivers usually still work under Win 10) and some drivers now available on manufacturers' web sites.

Windows 10 deliveries do support Microsoft Surface tablet drivers; but drivers for non-Microsoft devices is usually lacking.

Also: have a USB keyboard and mouse attached when installing Windows 10 - you will need to answer prompts before setup gets anywhere near having touch screen support.

Cheers,

Ian
