I can not install Windows 10 on a laptop Samsung RF510

Hello!

The problem with the installation of any test assembly windows 10 on a laptop Samsung RF510 and its variations (several topics in the Russian-speaking forum. Answer no. In other forums too, the answer is no). That is a common problem for all users of the Samsung Notebook Series R with the BIOS - Phoenix SecureCore (tm) Setup Utility, in particular version 03GB .. Formatting the hard disk does not solve the problem.

During a clean installation of a BIOS (with the stick or DVD-ROM) hangs on the first intro. I, like many other users trying to configure the BIOS, but nothing helps. The same situation occurs with the installation of Update after the first reboot the notebook.

If you do the installation from the stick out of the system after the first reboot and hangs on the logo. If you manually restart your computer, then load the old OS with error window.

Build windows 10 clearly do not want to work with this BIOS. Developers can finally decide this issue, because soon have out final assembly. Or maybe someone knows a solution, I beg you suggest. Thank you very much!

August 9: The only currently working on a way to install Windows 10 OS on a laptop Samsung RF 510 - a withdrawal of the native module WiFi Broadcom, replacing it with WiFi module from another manufacturer (eg Atheros AR5B225) or using an external USB WiFi module. Details on the procedure for replacing a module on page 21topics in the first post. Or wait for the decision from Microsoft.

P.S.

The problem is relevant for those laptops Samsung, as well as some other manufacturers of laptops, which is installed on the WiFi module Broadcom and has Phoenix BIOS.

I solved the problem for only 6€. The solution is simple and it's not really difficult. You only need to buy an atheros ar5b225 wifi card adapter, open your laptop and replace the card. You have to beware by removing the screews and look after the place where you take them off.

I take the oportunity to clean the fan and replace the thermal past. Windows 10 is now installed.

Hi, microsoftanswer23,

My problem now is not Win10 installation, but it's just the bluetooth issue.

I admit I'm a little bit worried of purshcasing another wifi card adapter(Atheros AR5B225), "no matter its price", and still face the same problem with bluetooth recognization...

Thanx, anyway.

Fernando Fragoso.

Hi,

I have a 4 year old Samsung NP-R439 DA07IN laptop with Windows 8.1 PRO as OS. When I tried to upgrade to Windows 10 on receiving upgrade notification from windows, I also had to face the issue.

So, what I did was to remove Broadcom WLAN module, and then upgraded successfully to Windows 10. Now it's working smooth. The only problem now is that I can't restart the computer, but only shut down or put to sleep/hibernate (If restarted, windows hangs at the logo screen. Then I've remove WLAN module again which is an easy job for my model as only 6 screws needed to be removed).

So, last day I shot an email to Samsung India, for which they replied me over phone as following

Samsung is already working on this issue (they claim so!). It's NEITHER Windows's NOR Broadcom's issue (as they both work perfectly in other laptops), but an issue with Samsung BIOS. The issue can be solved only when a new BIOS update is released, but they can't give an ETA.

So guys, it's a problem with Samsung, not with Broadcom/Windows 10. But I don't have much hope in Samsung releasing a BIOS update ever as they are no more making laptops.

Anyway, lets wait and see.

Samsung still sells Laptops in the USA, I believe.

There must be a fair number of older models there that need fixing.

Not fixing them could lose sales, or possibly even a class action suit, so it must be worth their while to update the BIOS/firmware.

Reply today from Samsung regarding the situation RF510 Windows 10 Upgrade

Thank you for your recent email to the CEO of Samsung UK.

I am sorry if our response to your previous enquiry did not provide assistance, and I would like to reiterate our position.

With regard to the Windows 10 update, the following link shows the compatible models in the dropdown menu:

http://www.samsung.com/uk/windows10/upgrade.html

As your particular model is not included, this would mean the Windows 10 update would not be supported and as such Samsung would not be able to assist further. As explained, this may be in relation to the licenses supplied by Microsoft and we would recommend discussion with Microsoft technical support directly.

I am sorry that we cannot assist further in this enquiry, but trust that this provides clarification of Samsung's position in this matter.

Looks like no help from Samsung & pass the buck to Microsoft not good !!

I have contacted Microsoft to obtain their response.

The Samsung/Broadcom combo does not cause a problem in Windows 7.

It does cause a problem in Windows 10.

We can only hope that whatever has been changed in Windows 10 can be unchanged.

So, over to Microsoft.

Or, replace the Wi-Fi card.

Yes, you are right. Don't know Microsoft hear this issue or not, but after too much wait, today I have ordered

Atheros AR5B225 WIFI adapter. May be received in 30 to 40 days. This is also a little long time, but I can conceder as after that no need to open my laptop.

Anil
