Its not trendy to hate on COD because its popular, but there are reasons as to why we cant stand that series.  COD games are not good games, they are generic mediocre titles that are overhyped because any 8 year old can pick the game up, do well in the first 2-3 matches and feel good about himself with all the flashing lights and words popping up on screen.  I can almost guarantee you that the gameplay in MW 3 is not going to be any different from MW 2 or BO.  Why?  Because its the same engine theyve been using since COD 4, and in 4 games, the gameplay has yet to improve, or change, and I highly doubt its going to start with this one.

Well, WE love that series and love to play it over and over again. And the fact that "any 8 year old can pick the game up" as you said just shows how well it's done. It's easy to play and it delivers hell of a fun. Thats what a game should be all about: have fun. I really hope they won't change or "improve" much because the gameplay is already great.

No, it just shows how much watered down the gameplay is compared to other games.  COD has been on the same engine for 4 years now with no improvement.  The gameplay has gotten stale, and old, and this community doesnt ever seem to think improvement is a good thing and keep demanding more of the same. 

To the other guy, I have given lists of valid arguments against the COD franchise in other threads in the old forums, but will gladly repeat them here.

1. Spawns - some of the worst Ive seen in games.  Some Ill spawn looking into the air or reloading.  Other times the enemy just killed will spawn directly behind me., while at times I would run into someone who just spawned right in front of me.  Vice versa I have spawned in the same exact area 2-3+ times and gotten killed by an enemy there. 
2. Host Migration - COD 3 had it perfect, no ifs ands or buts about that.  Everyone was technically host.  If the person who created the room left, there would be no dropping of the match, no disconnections, no stopping the game to find a new host, the game would just pick someone else while the game was in motion.  COD 4/WaW didnt even have this, and when they did implement it in MW 2/BO its total and utter crap, and completely broken.  In Bo if the host dashboards, the entire lobby gets dropped.  That doesnt seem to be a minor deal.
3. Computerized KSR - Since when are computers fine in PvP  online games?  I remember when OFDR was gonna come out, many people were bashing the fact that you could command a squad of AI in the MP.  Thats not allowed, but having the ability to call in a gunship after 7 kills to rack up the kills for you is?  Thats not my only beef with the KSR either.  Not only do they pretty much promote camping, but it pretty much locks in a victory for the winning team.  Calling in KSR after KSR to decimate the losing team isnt even fair as its not giving the losing team even a slight chance to get back.  People complain about the vehicles in BF, yet at least both sides have them from the start, and from there its all about who can do the best in them, and against them.  Not in COD.
4. Perks - To me, these just create a recipe for disaster considering that there are only about 4-5 perks actually worth using in each game, with the rest being filler/there until you get the worthwhile perks.  How many perk combinations did you actually see being used within each game?  Probably not a lot.  They also create imbalances with the game.  COD 4 was probably the most balanced of the perks, excluding Jugg which almost everyone used and through the perk balance out the window.  MW 2 was overrun after a month or two with either MLC or OMA/Tubes/DC, and both those perk combinations pretty much ruled the game

Theres also lag, the 4 year old engine, the community itself, glitches/hacks and how easily the games are hacked online, how overpowered or underpowered the weapons seem, and how its pretty much steps back from what COD 2 and COD 3 were in many aspects.  Would you like more?

Funny, because that's what they said about World at War and look at it now. Notice how nothing changes when it comes to Call of Duty. I just enjoy the Campaign. Besides, Dice is really heating things up with Battlefield 3.

How does someone's opinion on a video game series have anything to do with I.Q.? On top of that - Of course he's played Modern Warfare2 and BlackOps. How else would he be able to state an opinion without actually experiencing the series? Call of Duty has been the same basic engine and the same multiplayer since 2007.
