Xbox Slim beeping noise when reading disk

Recently I've been experiencing problems with my Xbox 360 Slim disc tray not reading discs. Normally it would just say "Open Tray" when there was a disc currently inside of it. Now, whenever I put in a disk, my Xbox makes this constant beeping noise similar to a telegraph machine, but at a lower tone. After the beeping, the spinning disc stops, and I get "Unrecognized Disc" everytime. I am very, very confused and would appreciate any help offered!
