Xbox Live Family Pack question

I recently purchased a new Xbox 360, and the first thing I thought to do would be to get a gold membership so I could actually play online! So I was looking for my best option and I noticed that there was a "family pack" or something I could purchase that would allow 4 people for the price of less than 2. "Awesome", I thought to myself. The issue being, it'd only be myself and my sister using the console. So there would be two 12 month subscriptions wasted. This leads me to my questions.

1.) If I purchase this, will they mail/email/provide me with codes to redeem in order to activate it?

2.) If so, is there an expiry date for these? For example, would I be able to use one of the spares when my original 12 months ran out?

3.) Is there a way, instead of having 2 people for 12 months and wasting 2 other subscriptions, of just have 2 people with 24 month subscriptions?

If you purchase it, they will most likely activate it right then. I do not believe there is an expiration date, but you would not be able to use the spares, and you are not able to have 2 people use both to make 24 months. Personally, I would either buy 1 subscription and both use that or, just pay for 2.

Sorry, two people can use the same subscription? Or do you mean just have two people use the same tag?

Hi there.

 

When you purchase the family gold pack you're not sent any sort of redeem codes, however, you're simply able to add four seperate gamertags to the pack to use the 4 Gold tokens available. Unfortunately you cannot use more than one token on a single account/gamertag. In your situation it would be best to simply purchase a subscription for yourself and then create a new account for your partner / girlfriend / family member.

I meant that 2 people (accounts) wouldnt be able to activate all four of them, it has to be four separate accounts.
