My Xbox not recognize the ethernet cable

My Xbox not recognize my ethernet cable, I try with a 2 differents cables, I test the cables with a laptop an both is OK, when I connect the lapto the orange light turn on in the router, this not happen, when I connect the xbox any light turn on in the router, I turn off modem, router and console for a 3 minutes, when I turn on all, the problem continue, what can I do, is something broke in the console?

Maybe its your Xbox360's Problem.If your xbox is new take it back.The best solution would be to Call Microsoft though,they will help u a lot.By the way if your Xbox is SLim it will have WI-Fi so u dont need Cable.But the best solution is to call Microsoft.When u have a small problem  ask on forums,but this is a bit serious thats why ask Microsoft.

Tenchu, no problem is too big for the forums. :-) OP, it does sound like the ethernet port on your console is out of commission, in which case you'll either want to set up a repair, or consider using a wireless adapter.

My xbox doesn't recognize my cable and i know my xbox is messed up but i don't have the money to fix it

As Mister Fitzer suggested, the two options when you know it's the xbox without a doubt are to have the xbox repaired by Microsoft or use a wireless adapter.

i don't have a warranty on mine so mine costs about 100 bucks and i'm flat broke
