LOCKED - My "BRAND NEW" Xbox 360 got banned for no reason???

I am a huge gamer and I love Xbox but now I'm very upset... My old Xbox got the red ring of death :'( and i couldnt play it anymore so my mom decided to buy me a BRAND NEW XBOX! I had it for about a week and a half and it got banned out of nowhere?? I dont understand why either? I wasnt cheating or doing anything wrong?  The Xbox was BRAND NEW right out of the box and it wasnt modified or anything?? It was in mint condition!! I recieved an email saying it was banned but it didnt tell why?? I wanna know why it got banned? and i also want it unbanned or i want a new one sent to me? this is very unfair....it was a BRAND NEW xbox and you guys decided to ban it and not tell me why? i have never violated the terms of use either? please help me this just isnt right?!

Was it purchased used from a gaming store such as game stop or was it a brand new S console? Also, are you sure the console was banned and not just a gamertag located on the console?

I'm positive it was brand new...I was with my mom when she bought it. It's an Xbox 360 Elite and when I try to sign in it says, "This console has been banned for violations of the Terms of Use." This is so unfair?!

Take it back to the retailer and ask them to exchange it. Someone probably bought that xbox, got it banned, put it back in the package and returned it. Your retailer put it back up on the shelf for resale and you got stuck with it. Thats what I would try. Good luck.

It wasn't banned when I got it! It was BRAND NEW and I played online with it! It got banned after about a week and a half and I don't know why! Microsoft just picked me out and banned my Xbox and they won't tell me why or send me a new one? It's so unfair?!

You can still try taking it back, It's possible it was modified and returned, and then got banned when the mods were discovered after you purchased it. Most companies have a 90 day return policy.

Just tell them it doesn't work. Tell them they sold you a banned console. It sometimes takes a while for a console ban to go through so the ban might have been put in motion way before you bought the console.

So...... "Gaming Store" sold you a banned console, and you now are not willing to try and return it because explaining the situation will not work? Then there is nothing we can do to help.
