Day One Update not progressing

I know it's not a huge help but it might be reassuring for you to know that last night there were quite a few people whose updates kept getting stuck or stopping completely. In every case I saw it did eventually sort itself out, I'm guessing it's just an annoying downside to thousands of people trying to download at the same time. I hope it finishes for you soon.

Sorry to hear about the stall in the update. If you are sitting there longer that 10 minutes it is best to contact support for help in this matter. Its absolutely a bummer but I feel for you and want you up and running as soon as possible.

Thanks everyone for your advice and words of support.

After another 10+ hours the update still hasn't progressed beyond 60%.

I  have now reset the machine after reading the advice here and the update is now downloading again. I'll report back with an update if it works out this time round.

Well, the update progresses past 60% now but keeps failing. I'm in a constant loop between starting the update and the update not working!

Perseverance wins. Finally it worked - got very lucky. Tried another 5 times since last post.

I figured as much, i am giving up till tomorrow, maybe then the servers will not be so backed up

I've been stuck on 74% since yesterday keep restarting the machine to no avail!! is there a way to hard reset the system? I'll keep trying but this is very frustrating! i took the machine back to where i got it and they wouldn't swap it saying it would do the same on the new machine!! extremely unhappy at the moment! First time I've gone xbox over PS and i must say this is not a good first impression!!
